MATERIAL SOURCING
Every fabric we use is traceable to its origin. We work only with suppliers who can tell us exactly where a fibre was grown, how it was processed, and under what conditions. No ambiguity. No greenwashing.
The seam between worlds
Sustainability at Araai is not a campaign. It is not a label or a certification we paid for. It is the only way we know how to make clothes — slowly, deliberately, and with full accountability for the cost of every decision.
Fast fashion is not a style problem. It is a systems problem. We are trying to build a different system — one piece at a time.
Every fabric we use is traceable to its origin. We work only with suppliers who can tell us exactly where a fibre was grown, how it was processed, and under what conditions. No ambiguity. No greenwashing.
We do not overproduce. Each collection is made in limited quantities — enough to meet genuine demand, nothing more. Overstock is the fashion industry's quiet catastrophe. We refuse to contribute to it.
Our quality standard is simple: a piece must still look good after a thousand washes. We test seams, stress dyes, and wear samples until we are certain they will outlast the decade you bought them in.
We ship in fully recycled and recyclable materials. No plastic. No unnecessary inserts. The box your Araai arrives in was made from post-consumer waste — and can become something else again when you are done with it.
Growth for us means more people wearing things longer — not more things sold. We measure success by garment lifespan, not by units shipped. Every business decision we make is tested against this standard.
By 2026, every product page will carry a full material passport — where the fabric came from, who made it, and what the environmental cost was. Accountability starts with disclosure.
When an Araai piece shows its age, we want to help you keep it — not sell you a new one. We are building a repair and restoration programme that extends the life of every garment we have ever made.
Not in packaging. Not in labels. Not in the thread on our hang tags. We are eliminating single-use plastic from every touchpoint of our operation — and tracking our progress publicly, year on year.
The most sustainable garment is the one already in your wardrobe. We make clothes so good you will never need to replace them — and that is a business model we are proud to stand behind.
